The BIS in General Studies provides flexibility and practicality around the course selection to handcraft your own degree. It requires the same 45 core requirement credits as the other Villanova BIS degrees, but from there, the BIS in General Studies “heads out on its own.” With only 33 credits required in the Major, you are left with a tremendous 42 free elective credits to forge your own path. You have the liberty to explore courses in Humanities, Social Sciences or even self-defined Independent General Studies.

BIS Students Majoring in General Studies can simultaneously earn their PA Teaching Certification in Social Studies.
